Leslie Cottle
A Woman with Many Facets

Leslie Cottle first and foremost is a woman with all the struggles and issues we women all face. Yet she celebrates her womanhood and embraces the empowered, beautiful gifts and strengths, that each one of us possess.

Even during a time in her life where tragedy and turmoil have taken front and center she continues on with her dreams and missions set forth before her. She does this first and foremost by being the best mother she can be to her beautiful daughter Natasha, by showering her with endless love, encouragement, strength, confidence and laughter.

Secondly, she derives great joy from expressing herself creatively in her multifaceted art forms. She has been a professional actress for many years working with several Hollywood stars, George Clooney to name one of her favorites! Though she felt from a creatively satisfying standpoint she could offer more of herself and her talents elsewhere so she launched her independent film career. She has written, produced, directed and starred in three films thus far and feels this is just the tip of the iceberg!

Each of her films have been a woman driven, spiritual, poetic and romantic journey showcasing her deep spiritual beliefs of past lives, the afterlife, women's issues, her poetry and most importantly her love of romance, her belief in true love and soul mates.

Her second film" Let Them Eat" launched her from the Montreal film community into international recognition by receiving stellar reviews by critics even in Hollywood where traditionally big budgets and A list stars rule supreme!

Her film was often compared to Sophia Coppolla's epic "Marie Antoinette" and much to Leslie's surprise, her film got superior reviews!

Shot on a very meager budget, Leslie put her heart and soul into this home grown epic about a present day woman (Bella) dealing with everyday issues of life, yet is haunted by a deep inexplicable connection to the former Queen of France, Marie Antoinette, both of whom are played by Leslie.

We see the maligned queen in her dark prison cell enduring the last few hours of her life awaiting her execution. During this tumultuous time she encounters God, who explains her impending fate, Satan who tries to persuade her to the dark side, her lover and soul mate Count Axel in a tear filled and heart wrenching good bye, and lastly the dreaded executioner, which is the most surprising encounter of them all. We see the obvious parallels between these two women and come to the conclusion that at the core of every woman's heart, queen or housewife, we are all the same. A strong message within the film is helping those in need and feeding the hungry which is a cause near and dear to Leslie's heart.

Laced throughout the film are her own original spoken word poetry tracks carefully woven into the fiber of the story and the depth of the characters adding a deeper dimension to the films intensity and meaning.

"Let Them Eat" can be purchased at www.let-them-eat.com or www.amazon.com She would also love to hear your feedback if you see it! Make sure you watch the trailer!

Her next film "Reaching" was her biggest surprise and success yet. She set out to produce a 5-minute short film to showcase one of her more poignant poetry tracks about someone whose true love has passed on and her desperate quest to understand and reach them beyond the grave. Set in black and white it has a very dramatic and surreal feel to it as she runs through the cobblestone streets at night in a long black cape. There are heart wrenching moments where she breaks down in the solitude of her bed and those where she shows her strength running up the church steps frantically trying to reach him. The scene where she collapses on his grave is most affecting.

What happened next she cannot explain though she feels blessed and humbled. So many who were sadly grieving the loss of a loved one, by a stroke of fate discovered "Reaching" online from all over the world and expressed to her that this video comforted, soothed, and even healed them on a deep spiritual level. She could not have asked for greater feedback. She then took that lead to reach out and further offer her spiritual healing to those in need and the results were more than she ever could have hoped for. Healing is Leslie's true calling though she didn't always know this to be fact.

She has also recorded two CD's of her powerful spoken word poetry brought to life by original and haunting music and sound effects by her composer Yacoub Moilim, gaining many dedicated and supportive fans worldwide whom she cherishes greatly! "Soul Whisperer" is a collection of her healing, inspirational, grief and pro peace tracks, including her well known track "Through The Eyes Of A Child" about a little girl in the middle of a war zone and how her courage changes a soldier's life forever. The collection ends with Leslie's rendition of "Amazing Grace".

"Soul Seduction" is a collection of her romantic tracks ranging from the celebration of true love, the pain of unrequited love, unbridled passion and the celebration of desire and sensuality which is something no woman should ever hide! "Ultimate Love Letter" is one of her most popular romantic tracks as well as her collaboration with Yacoub as they perform a French /English duet in a beautifully touching track "Finding My Wings"

Leslie and Yacoub worked feverishly to bring many different musical styles and cultures into each CD ranging from Latin style to Celtic, Arabic, Indian, classical, and even contemporary and dance, so there is something in it for everyone. She is also working with him on some new songs she has written and will be finally singing!

Both CD's will be available for purchase online very soon, an announcement will follow.

Leslie's main goal and ambition is to utilize her artistic gifts to reach out, connect, and heal those in need and to do this all in a unique and entertaining way. She very much looks forward to sharing her work with you!

Some Testimonials About Leslie Cottle and Her Work

She is an angel to those that hear her words spoken and then healing begins. Leslie has a special gift of words that are spoken with the right music background to enhance her poems as she records them."You Are Not Alone", about a person on the brink of suicide and her telling them that they are not alone that there is someone that loves them. She has so much emotion within her words and you can tell she cares for others. She lets the listener know that they have someone that does care. Leslie does care deeply for others as you can tell in each of her labor of loves.

I met Leslie three years ago on Fame Cast shortly after that we added each other on My Space. I had lost my husband a year before and was still having trouble coping with the loss. I heard her track, "All That We Are" and my heart started to heal. The "Ultimate Love Letter" helped me finish healing from the loss. Leslie has the touch of the healer for the soul. She has written a tag on My Space. "RELAX YOUR MIND AND LET ME WHISPER TO YOUR SOUL" this is exactly what she does.

Leslie also has branched out in producing moves. "Let Them Eat" A fictional story of Marie Antoinette her last hours before she was beheaded. A sad love story that touches ones heart and leaves one knowing love lives forever... She wrote, directed and starred in. All the tracks in the movie she wrote. She is a power of strength that shows what a woman can do, what we can do when our passion runs high.

I recommend that you take time to listen to the "Soul Whisper" let her heal your heart, mind and soul if you are hurting. Enjoy what she has to say there is so much truth in her words. She is an angel sent from above.

There are no many people, who can touch your heart, soul and please your ears and eyes at the same time. In these days of short-life trends and indistinct recollection from the last "big thing" I am always happy to discover a talent, who gives me the soothing hope of a longevity in her art. The skills to give the listeners and watchers a glimpse of home, a piece of warmness and the chance to reflect some own thoughts is a great gift to us all. Leslie Cottle is such an artist. Sometimes "in-your-face", sometimes sad, sometimes sexy and sometimes blue. But never perfunctory. So take a breath and dip into the beautiful world of Leslie...she will bring you closer to your dreams...and with her on your side, you'll never be desolate. She's my dear friend and since I know her, my life is full of wonderful notes and beautiful colours. She's an artist!
